Eyes here, Luceti! (player-plot)

May 11, 2011 23:13

Hello, Luceti. Do you like action? Excitement? IC drama? Well, I have a player plot in the works set for mid-June that entails all of that! Still a long way from now, but I think it’s best to start organizing this as early as I can.

To start off, I’ll be on vacation at the beginning of June and, as a result, be mallynapping Noel before the plot begins. When she returns… well. Let’s just say Luceti’s in big trouble.

Meet Kusanagi, Noel's superpowered evil side.

Have you heard of the Murakumo Units? If you’ve been around long enough, chances are you’ve had to have heard the name at least once. If not, let me explain really quick, since I know some of that info in the link may be confusing to those who don't know canon well: The Murakumo Units in the BlazBlue world have a long history, stemming back to about one hundred years ago where they were first developed. They are referred to on one occasion as a "repository of crimes that humans have committed" because of their questionable origins; living weapons created by scientists with a purpose in mind--to pretty much destroy a god.

There are at least thirteen Murakumo Units. One of them happens to be Noel, who was the 12th unit.

These weapons were basically smelted using something called a cauldron, and for a long time the two big bads (Yuuki Terumi and Relius Clover), who were the masterminds of this whole thing, couldn't find the right one to do their bidding. None of them had a certain power they needed to not only seek out the god, but to also break the 9594709570 timeloops that kept happening because BlazBlue is weird.

To avoid further tl;dring, the timeloops always end with Nu stabbing Ragna, falling down the giant cauldron to fuse with him, and getting sent back one hundred years in the past to become this thing called the Black Beast while Ragna... ended up somewhere else. 8| The Black Beast? Think of it as a huge failure of what these guys wanted out of the Murakumo Unit. It's also pretty much responsible for killing half of the world's population and stomping around for the next ten years destroying everything before the Six Heroes finally came in to save the day... only for history to repeat itself one hundred years later.

WELL. It just so turns out that Noel Vermillion eventually manages to break the loop that caused the Black Beast to be born single-handedly and obtained the Eye of the Azure all in one blow. This also means that the bad guys finally have some actual use for the previously worthless 12th unit and end up looking all over for her for most of the second game, with the intent of turning poor Noel into their own little slave puppet because of how useful her newfound (and very unwanted) powers were to them. Sadly, they succeed.

The Kusanagi Unit is basically what Relius Clover had in mind when he created the Murakumo Units. Tempering Kusanagi doesn’t require a Cauldron unlike the other units, but simply the true Azure. Remember what I said about the Black Beast? It was a failed attempt at that. So think about it:

The Black Beast was a failed Kusanagi. Noel “reborn” as Mu-12 is Kusanagi. This is kind of like saying Mu is a perfect Black Beast. Now, if we look at Mu’s profile…

Hobby: Destruction
Likes: Destruction
Dislikes: The World

Houston, we have a problem.

So, here’s what we have: Kusanagi is the result of Noel being tempered with the True Azure after Terumi told her the truth of what she was and mindscrewed her into believing that the whole world hates and wants her dead, that she’s nothing but a living weapon meant to be used, and that mankind are a bunch of bastards. Noel’s repressed hatred for the world is amped up by ten, and she ends up becoming the God-Slaying sword.

So she’s brainwashed and crazy. Terumi intended on using her against one of the god-like beings in the BlazBlue world (…who still hasn’t been seen onscreen) and not long after she’s tempered, he orders her to use her powers to enter the Boundary, snuff out the Master Unit: Amaterasu (the god I mentioned earlier), and kill it.

Not that one.

Kusanagi only really answers to her creators, Yuuki Terumi and Relius Clover. Without them around, we basically have a crazy Godslayer running around Luceti.

And she’s very upset. In essence, Mu is a very, very angry person and the last event honestly had the best timing ever to help expand this. In short, no panda can save this.

You’re not just going to let her destroy your village, are you, Lucetians? Unfortunately, if any of this tl;dr has been any indicator, this is not going to be an easy battle. Being one of the (if not the) strongest character in BlazBlue, Luceti is going to have to work together to put a stop to this crazy lady. It took the efforts of three people to put her down in-canon (one of them being the hero who put the Black Beast down, and even he couldn’t do it). Ragna finally did her in, but it was only by breaking her armor using a power called the Idea Engine that… no one in Luceti has.

No doubt there will be injuries all around, (and possibly even death if you’re willing to subject your character to that) but like everyone else in the village, Mu is not exempt to the power cap! This means that while she’s strong as hell, her power has been cut down substantially and it’s very possible to take her down if the strongest combatants work together to bring her down.

And when I say bring her down, I mean it. Kusanagi… or, well, Noel I guess, is inevitably not going to survive this. Sad, yes, but this is better than letting the village go in flames.

So, this is a sign-up, Q&A, and suggestions post. I’ll post more information (like Mu’s abilities, for instance) in the near future, as well as how all of this is going to play out. I had an entry for when “Noel” returns and a big fight log in mind, but if you think there’s a better option (or anything else, really) please relay it to me! I love suggestions (and answering questions).

For the sign-ups, just list the character(s?) you want involved and tell me what you want to do with them. I think there are about four options we can choose from: being a victim (which is letting Mu maul your character or kill them if you’d like), or being a fighter (getting into a skirmish with Mu and not getting mauled in the end, or partaking in the final battle which I intend in resulting with Mu’s death). If you feel the options I have are a bit too constrictive, then by all means, tell me what else you'd like to see your character do! We can try working things out. :D

...though, I should recommend that the strongest of the strong should probably be helping out in the final battle. Trust me. 8|

Combatants and non-combatants are all welcome. Fight logs won’t be handwaved unless requested. I would really love to make this work and enjoyable for you all, so please let me know if you have any suggestions, questions, requests… anything! I'll have a follow-up post with a list of people who signed up as well as more info, so stay tuned!

And finally, this is completely optional. I know having something like this running around is kind of… well… yeah, but I’ll make sure she won’t actually burn Luceti down.

and as an added bonus, here’s her song.

...also, I am SO sorry for tl;dring ;_; *hides*

Edit: Also! Nadia brought to my attention that with people getting injured, it might be a good idea to have some healers/doctors on board with this, so feel free to offer up your character's... doctorly abilities if you want to take part.

And a note (5/13): I'm gonna be sporadic with replying here, but this is just a message to let you all know that I'm still around and taking down everyone's names for this. \o As I've said to a few people, a plotting post will be up within a week.
