LJ Idol - Week 2 - Uphill, both ways, barefoot

Oct 28, 2009 22:26

When I first saw this week's topic I thought, "shit, this will be easy!". I was so wrong. I wanted to be able to write a funtime happy post, not something necessarily introspective that would be a downer, making me the emo kid on the block, again. But it seems I may have to do just that, because I can't come up with any fun shit that applies to ( Read more... )

I wrote a similar type of entry for this topic. I looked back on my education. I took time off and feel that it was a wonderful thing for me to because I was more mature and could handle my classes by the time I went back. Otherwise, I feel I may have just dropped out early on if I had went right away.

Oh, and I just completed my Masters in May. I am 27 (a bit younger than you, but not much). You can do it :)

I look at the 20-year-old's in my classes and have to stop myself from laughing, when they act like they know EVERYTHING in the world, lol. I do miss being that young and so sure of myself, but I'm happy I've been through all the things I've been through in my life, and come out the other side as a, possibly, better person.

Freakin' awesome! Anyone who graduates from college rocks. But those who pursue the Master's and Ph.D. deserve some extra confetti in life. So here's yours!

I know what you mean. I used to envy those girls (and still do) for their naive outlook on things. But I am a stronger person because of it all :)

And thank you! I used to plan on getting a Ph.d, and I still might, but I need a break from school first. I am also considering going into politics (I want to make a change in our country, not for the usual, wrong reasons people want to get into politics). So who knows. I considered a second Masters or even an associates or another bachelors. I am a lifetime learner for sure!

I'm going to get a Ph.D. as well, I want to teach college English one day. But I also already know of a second Master's as I want, too.

Lifetime learning is the best thing ever.

While this is introspective, it's definitely not a downer or emo, I found it very positive and inspiring. :)

Hearing you speak about your education makes me feel so much better for having dropped out of sixth form college because if you can drop out of school and come back and still rock the house, SO CAN I :D

I SHALL BE AS AWESOME AS YOU! \o/
