Wow, it looks like this is my first post in a spectacularly long time.

And it was long due: I've been on hiatus before due to the common ups and downs of real life, but kids - I'm sorry for being so late.
Wit that said, it's also quite good to be back. Time took a compressed, quasi-warp quality last year round.

It's really very ironic; we were just discussing some old things on PhoenixMUCK and I look in and see you there in my friends list!

We did cover some of this period in Italian history in one of my recent classes on recent European history.

We have several different antagonistic threads, but if I had to summarize for America-as-a-whole (rather than myself), it would be something like this:

"Well, these (new group)s are annoying and they're ruining American values; however, we need their cheap labor. Keep 'em down!"

A generation later nobody really cares; they may be slightly exciting and exotic but their children are rapidly assimilating.

A generation after THAT, nobody cares AT ALL.
