The Transcribing of the Traumatic Adventures of Dr. John, Doorkicker, Smiley, and The Redshirt.

As you may or may not know, I'm kind of obsessive about backstory. And, as you may also know, all we really learn about John's military service is given to us in a grand total of twenty seconds of montage. Well, that and him getting shot and stuff. So, I did the same thing that I did when I was trying to figure out how much it hurts when Azkadellia ( Read more... )

I beg to disagree, speaking from personal experience. I've obviously never been to war, but I'm just comparing it to something that's happened to me. Long story short: my kneecap got dislocated and I had to pull it back into its place by myself - there was no one to help me, and it hurt like hell.

After that I kept having the same kind of "violent" (in the lack of a better word) flashback dreams as John and they were so realistic I woke up thinking I really was in the middle of that accident again. I guess that's how human mind works after a really traumatic event - you relive those things in your dreams just the same way they happened.

Well, I guess we're both right and in the end it just depends on one's brain chemistry or simply things unknown. *shrug* Not trying to start a war here, (you know what it does to the traffic...) just voicing my confined view of this, because I felt like you were completely ruling out the possibility of realistic flashback dreams ("You don´t dream the things like they are in real").

And sorry, I don't speak German. I wish I could though :)

OH. MY. GOD.

I LOVE YOU. LEIK WHOA.

I cannot believe that you went through all the trouble to do this; I can't believe that the writers actually got that filmed. I heart the Beeb. I heart you. BIG HEARTS ALL ROUND!

(And now I really want to write this as my second Big Bang. Argh.) shutupbrainshutupshutup

I can't even begin to imagine how much effort you've put into this - and the result is mindblowing. I've never paid much attention to what actually happens in the dream sequence, but this was really, really interesting to read. Thank you for posting this!

*SLOW CLAP*

That. is. amazing.

I'm so insanely impressed by the amount of work you put into watching and deciphering the sequence of events. Seriously, mad fandom props. I really hope someone takes it upon themselves to write fanfic based on the events and do it justice.
