BUT HEY, IT'S ONLY THE FIRST EPISODE!

SPN 6x01. I watched it. And, you know, have talking to give you. Talking which involves a lot of cake metaphors.

No actual cake was involved in the writing of this, alas. )

Ahahahaha this is my favourite review so far! I agree with everything! (And will probably have stronger thoughts about the YED once I actually watch every episode of the first few seasons)

The Reader's Digest line! LOL. Oh my goodness, Bobby has definitely never had kids. And I am so, so happy they talked in detail about how screwed up Dean dumping all his issues on Lisa's door step was and had the potential to be.

YES to rapey Grandpa and I'm so glad I'm not the only one who was like "Dean doesn't love Sam less, guys, Lisa and Ben are his family and he has a Saving People Thing! Sam is very capable!"

I'm crossing my fingers that the next couple episodes kick it up a notch. :)

I found this episode boring because the monster wasn't very good, there was no funny, and while there was much exposition I felt like nothing happened or was actually revealed

Very very much this. Also, rapey grandpa, that made me laugh :)

I liked the Dean's New Life sequence a lot, admittedly because I've been saying since before we met that Dean secretly wanted a real, safe life. I do agree though that they chose poorly on the monsters. The Djinn we saw the first time was a catalyst for one of my favorite Dean eps and they just didn't have the same punch here. They could have gotten something else to give him hallucinations, if nothing else I bet there are some pissy demons out there with the power to pull that. Which leads me to the second point which is that I don't really feel like YED is Dean's biggest fear anymore. I think it should have been Satan!Sammy, which would have been a more believable thing to pop up, so it would have been better for the audience and for Dean. After all Dean doesn't know what happened to Sam after he took the Swan Dive and all the audience knew at that point was that he was back somehow.

I'm more creeped out by the cousins than Grandpa X-Files. They're trouble, mark my words.

God, the first episode sucked. It was actually boring. The episode with Bobby was good fun, mad plot issues aside, and the one with the vampires was enjoyable in a violent kind of way. And now, with the recent episode, back to suckage. Why are they doing this to Sam's character? Why?!
