Yaoi? Is a good thing. Obviously. Especially if it involves characters created by Kazuya Minekura.

YOU SPEAK TRUTH. I am so far behind on her EVERYTHING though, which makes me saaaad. My old reliable scanlation site is now GONE, woe.

ALTHOUGH I DID DISCOVER THE FOURTH VOLUME OF WILD ADAPTER, WHICH. Oh Minekura. You ship those boys so hard in every single reincarnation, don't you. ♥

You know, I watched my first yaoi anime on a suggestion during this semester, and it was kind of weird for me because there were no girls. I know this probably seems obvious, but I grew up watching anime like Sailor Moon and Tenchi where there were more womens than you could shake a stick at. That being said, while I found some stuff gratuitous and/or eye-roll worthy (opening every episode with an innuendo-laden conversation), I found some of the characters to be very interesting (and some to be very annoying, but mostly interesting!). I wasn;t really in it for the boy-make-outs though. I was interested in the characters and the relationships and not just the surface.... well, boy-make-outs. Or, actually, lack-thereof. tl;dr: interesting characters > boys making out for the hell of it.

Aaaand... what are your fav. AtLA ships? :)

I should definitely introduce you to good shounen anime/manga, because things lacking girls can be good! So can things lacking boys, but there are fewer of those.

Good outright-yaoi is hard to find, since it's basically there to just show pretty boys making out in a romcom setting (usually). Although there is this one I don't remember the name of atm which is very interesting and about a sci-fi world where blondes rule the world and all the brunettes are enslaved. And then there was sex. It was interesting! It was probably the absence of iyaaaaaaaaaaan~~ uke-ness that I liked though.

And my ships are really. Well. The main ones are Sokka/Suki, Katara/Zuko, and Fire Girls 0T3, Yes, Even With Crazy Azula. Although to my ABSOLUTE SHAME AND HORROR, I recently discovered I really really ship Iroh/Ursa. Because it makes so much sense and while yes, Ozai is a sexy shirtless fiend, Iroh/Ursa makes me so terrifyingly happy. Gah. D:

The one I watched was Gakuen Heaven. I guess it's based on a dating sim game? It's thirteen episodes. Some of the characters are pretty neat and fanfic inducing for backstory want, but others (a set of twins who are obnoxious and a science teacher who looks like he's fucking five) I do not get the appeal. At all. But then there are pretty and interesting people that make me go :D

I have some friends who have pulled me on board the Ursa/Ozai ship! XD I feel like my biggest problem with Iroh/Ursa is the "But he is Iroh and that is his brother and his brother's wife." But more than that, I fear the making Zuko actually Iroh's son... because what I love so much about them is that Iroh loves Zuko like a son even though he is not. That being said though, I can see why it does appeal, and it all really sort of depends on how one characterizes Ozai and the relationship between him and Ursa. It's actually a kind of interesting thing to look at-- the different interpretations of the relationships in the Fire Nation royalty ( ... )

So,... what do you think I should name my new car? I'm thinking Toshiko.

Go on. Ask about my week. *headdesk*

I believe you know my thoughts on yaoi.
