http://lucid-acolyte.livejournal.com/2250.htmlA/N: I wanted to write a nice fluffy siwon fic for the birthday boy. Maybe throw in his moment on my hanheeshibum series...BUT...murphy's law had other ideas so here's the fic I made, neither fluffy or nice and yep, Siwon-less. >.> Oh yeah...the title can be found on the end...first one who could guess why I did that gets a free cookie..^^;;
"I want to take a day off."
It was a simple statement from him but half of your group turned chaotic after he disappeared.
You look at the person beside you, the stoic boy but he's just as confuse as you. It wasn't really a big deal to do that. For the management had already given you two days of free time. So technically, all of you were really on a day off. You're still confuse but decided to help anyways for you can hear the princess screaming out that he needs to be back or there'll be hell to pay.
You search high and low but still couldn't find him. You tried going to his favorite places but he's still wasn't there. You tried calling his cell but no one as answering it. It was nearly dusk and still, he's not back. You went back to the apartment to see most of your groupmates in panic mode.
Umma was ordering everyone to search. That it was important for him to be found before the day was done. Rella was muttering under his breath how he'll mutilate the little brat for being this way. Seeing that they're still in manic zone, you've decided to leave and search for him alone.
But just like earlier, you came up empty-handed. Then you thought about your last conversation with your dongsaeng. He was asking you where is the greatest place on Earth. And you answered him with conviction.
"At the rooftop, just before sundown."
You climbed the stairs and surely, he was there.
With his hair being blown in the wind, he's really the icon for cuteness.
You walked towards him but instead of his sunny smile, he met you with a frown.
He told you in a very flat voice that you shouldn't have come. You want to wince on the tone he used but you just smiled. You stopped beside him, breathing the cool air of dusk.
You told him everyone was looking for him. That everyone was panicking. He just gave a hallow laugh but still, he didn't budge.
He wanted a day off, he told you once again. And you tried to explain that you're already in a holiday. Yet he just shook his head and with a sad smile he said he wanted it for his other job.
You frowned. What other job? He seemed to have read your thought as he looked at you straight in the eyes, and told you in a no-nonsense tone.
"Hyung, being the angel of death was my true job."
You look at him with confuse eyes. Him? The angel of death? Maybe Rella or the mama's boy but him? You can't picture him as one.
He laughed. And told you how naive you are. He told you you may not look like it, but it's really your job. He even told you to believe it or not, the princess was the angel of mercy while the mama's boy was the angel of luck. There were the others also others but he decided to stop right there.
You gave him a sheepish smile. You might not understand it well but if what he says was true, you might really be shock.
"May choose not to believe, I won't force you. But please leave me alone. I want to savor my day off."
You've decided to humor him and started leaving but if he's really death...then tonight no one will die.
You then think about the people who are suffering. Their souls were ready to take the step in the light but no one was there to fetch them. You think about the people who were in pain and the only salvation for them was the sweet promise of death. It's the balance of the universe. If there's life, there's death. If there's death, there's life. If he's really death, he needs to do his job. Or there'll be chaos...
You turned back only to find him looking at you with sad eyes.
"Do you really want me to go back at my job?"
You nodded. He then took out a black notebook and opened it on the page with today's mark.
Then your eyes grew wide which he just reciprocated with a bitter smile.
"Would you still want for me to go back and do my job?"
You took the notebook and traced out the names written. But if these people won't die...the balance of the world will be gone. You closed your eyes, tears flowing out your eyes. If this was the way things were suppose to be...you'll embrace with the lightest heart.
You looked at him, conveying your most inner thoughts through your gaze. He bit his lips like he used to do when upset but nevertheless nodded his head.
"Do it Sungmin-ah..."
The sound of an explosion was the last one you heard before the world turned black.
