11 days till future is revealed. 8 before Black Monday (the day we find out IF we matched) Nerves are starting to build. Not really nervous or anxious specifically just underlying heightened awareness as the time marches closer.

My whole class is a little edgy. Which is why it's probably a good idea that i'm getting the hell out of town the weekend before black Monday. Speaking of which, there's 4 people in my class going into ENT so I wonder if you ran across any of them at any point in time, I'm assuming you guys are like us and only have 1 or 2 interview days at most places.

I kinda just want to get Monday over with. As long as I find out "if," I don't really care about "where." I applied pretty broadly, I think I extend out west to St. Louis, down south to Jacksonville, and east to Albany, a bunch of places in between, and honestly, I would be happy at any place I interviewed at.

*fingers crossed*

Didn't want to bog down your journal with this, but I totally understand the feelings. I worked really really hard. Scored well, placed highly, all of those things that people say you need to do were done including making sure I had good answers for EVERY question and questions for EVERY location and interviewer. And then the interviews came. Bland. Every last one of them. No where except my school and my externship school had better than equal good and bad interviews. 9 of 10 interviews were bland. I know most will rank me, but do I make the top 3-5 at any one place.

I can be a great applicant, but if each program ranks me 4th or 5th and they match their top 3 everywhere I end up without a slot... Then a lost year to the prelim surg group and an even harder hill to climb to get a slot next year. The crazy has overtaken me!

As long as you are satisfied matching in your top 4-5 I don't think you have anything to worry about. It's those who have to match at their #1 who might be disappointed. I, like you, am great on paper but found most of my interviews to be kinda bland and generic, so I am left feeling uncertain about what kind of impression I made on them.
