You seen "A beautiful mind" yet? If not, I'll send it to you... but there was this one scene that was awesome...
he was in the bar with three of his buddies, and there were 5 girls... 4 regular so-so girls, and one HOT blond... They were discussing econimic principal where it is "every man for himself."
The main character speculates that if one character goes for the blonde, then her friends will hate feeling second best, and nobody will get laid.
The solution? NOBODY go for the blonde. Therefor, everyone will get the next best thing AND get laid.
Well, that doesn't really apply in your situation, but it was a good theory...
