Good for you for not succumbing to the easy cynicism of our postmodern world, but honestly? I don't think enough people care about anything outside of their own creature comforts for anything good to come out of this (or any) election. And that's not going to change any time soon, either. There hasn't been a convincing countercultural movement in this country for over fifteen years. Youth culture is sterile and prepackaged. My generation will prove to be the last to produce any originality whatsoever. We have a majority of unquestioning drones, and a minority of individuals with good intentions and an inability to think outside the box. And so progressive politics will continue to be reactive rather than revolutionary.
