My lovely beta reader kmktr found this chapter in her email archive, so I was able to post an update to "Chariots of the Gods"!

oooh, tantalising us again, I see! The plot just keeps getting more intriguing, and I still love how you've managed to put together all the science behind the duel mechas and gestalts, it feels very real.

Oh, thanks! Honestly, next to fight scenes, I consider technobabble my weakest point. I did some quick research into AIs just to get a feel for the terminology, but I'm mostly making this up as I go. I'm glad to hear what I'm coming up with sounds workable w/in the context of the story!

You probably did send it back to me, but I was using a different email account back then (and they wiped my saved files because I failed to log-in during all those months with no computer or net access, grr), so I don't have it now. :(

I'm trying to wrangle my li'l bro into helping me with the computer (since I am a complete klutz with tools and technology!), but he's rebuilding a classic truck and that's all he wants to do lately. lol Not that I blame him. There are many, many things I'd rather do than futz around with broken computers! x_x

I usually offer Li'l Bro baked goods. He's a sucker for my green tea cupcakes. But he's been resisting, due to the lure of automotive restoration.

LOL It's spelled right (I looked it up :D), but I could so see him getting teased for it. Actually, I can see Otto doing it just to shut him up (because I know Korone likes to tease *Otto*)....

oh wow I have just fallen in love with your stories and so cannot wait until the next update, I soo want to know what's happened to Jou and Seto and what will happen once the puzzle is complete.

I hope you get your harddrive working soon so you can access the rest, though have you thought about taking it out and trying it in another system?

Yes. Unfortunately, the only working computer I have access to is my laptop, running XP. The old drive is formatted for Win98 (FAT32) and is incompatible with XP.

I hope to frankenstein a working system just long enough to copy all my data. Hopefully soon! In the meantime, since locating this chapter, I may be able to work on the next one, just from memory. Wish me luck! ;)
