Alternate archive for Lucidfic.

Are you one of those readers who hates Fanfiction.net (or perhaps FFnet is not working for some reason), but you still want to read my fic? You're in luck! I now have an AO3 account: Lucidfic on AO3Only have about 15 stories uploaded at the moment, but at least the formatting is better than on FFnet. Yay for em dashes and intact scene breaks ( Read more... )

Why do you hate FF.net now?

No, I don't. I actually like FFnet quite a lot, but they do tend to have lots of technical problems. So, it's nice to have a back-up archive of my stories for those times when FFnet isn't working right. I used to have my own website for my fic, but it's too much trouble to set one up and keep it updated, etc. I'd rather let an archive do all the coding and stuff for me. ;)

Ah I was wondering because I do know some people hate it. For what reason I don't exactly know. I've heard of a lot of people having problems with the other people on their but 98% of my time on there has been a blessing.

You know what I'm excited about with them? I asked them if there was a way to start numbering chapters at 0 for prologues, and they're working on it! I'm very anal, and this is a MAJOR pet peeve I have with ffdn, that if you have a prologue, your chapter numbering is off. I avoid prologues for that reason, but the novel-length I'm working on now really needed one.

That's always bugged me, too. For one thing, I tend to get confused when the FFnet chapter number is out of sync with my chapter numbers. Gave me fits with CotG and the numbers on that one are still messed up. I've started uploading prologues and the first chapter together, just so the numbers won't be off.

Good to hear that AO3 is going to allow "chapter zero". lol

That's always something that's bugged me too. I thought I was the only one. I'm glad they are trying to fix that. That would be...super special awesome haha.

Oooh! This is a good idea! I've been thinking of a back-up archive, too. But LJ just doesn't seem like a good fit, overall. I mean, I have most of my stories posted here, but you have to dig for them. I might check this place out. =D
