Holy shit,
I normally don't spout drama, but I literally had the worst day I've ever worked at any place before. My manager agreed that it was his worst day too.
1) I get there and there's a delivery for some loading dock on Green St. for Forestry with an 855 area code number. I call before I leave, and my phone won't work. So I used my calling card, and it said the number was invalid. So I went there, and got to a loading dock on the Forestry building on Green St. and knocked as loud as I can, but no one was there. I then went through the first two floors looking for someone who might have ordered a pizza. I return, he calls back 30 minutes later, my boss gets the correct area code (859), I back out there, he's still not there, I call him down to the dock, he calls me back saying I'm not at some mystical dock which wasn't in his directions, so I eventually meet him infront of the Creamery, he gives me a twenty and says to keep a dollar of it and was giving me shit about not getting there sooner. I told him to shove it as appropriately as I could and gave him his change back in f'ing dollar coins. Ha Ha asshole.
2) I get back from the delivery and the drip bucket had overflowed by a good two pitchers (which means it was full for over an hour). Oh yeah, we had a brand new and rather inept 1st driver tonight.
3) Oh yeah! When I was coming back from the Forestry asshole, I managed to scrape my car against a van in the parking lot right in front of the restaraunt, because the area I have to get through is rediculously tight, and I pulled a turn a little too soon, and scraped the very last section on their car. Fortunately, it only left paint on both of our cars, and didn't dent it. Mine has more damage, but I can buff it off pretty easily. Additionally, the wife of the guy who owned the van was watching when I did it, and probably saw me yell fuck afterwards and proceed to storm into the restaraunt to write a note asking the owner to see me when they got back. It turned out her husband walked out before me and was looking at the van, and I talked to him. He was the nicest old man I've met in a really really long time, and told me not to worry about it. He repeatedly told me not to even worry about trying to scrape off the paint. So, I told the manager I was going to pay for his tab, which he said he'd discount it even further so it wasn't that much, which was going to be fine until...
4) While I was out making deliveries because they were still eating, the fucking bimbo who works as a waitress (and yes, she is a bimbo, she's retarded, extremely lazy, and whiny. All the other waitresses are awesome.) even though I told her I was going to pay for their tab, gave them a bill anyway and later told them that she messed up and that I was going to pay for it, which since they had already paid her told her not to worry abotu it and they appreciated the gesture. So I didn't get to ammend that even a slight bit.
5) Another delivery was out on Cedar Shoals, in a subdivision that had a gate which the person ordering didnt say, so I tried to call her, and I had no signal, and when I finally did get through, the number was wrong, so I tried to call work and get them to tell me the code, but the call cut off. Fortunately someone finally pulled up and I drove in after them. Oh, and then they tried to pay with a check, which we don't accept, and I had to call in a credit card number on their phone because mine was out of range.
6) Close to finally, at 9:45 (we close at 10, we normally don't take deliveries after 9:45) the manager, whose new at the job (but still cool), took a delivery for a guy who was 2 miles outside of our range down Prince past the loop. I had told him when I called to try to find his street (which wasn't on our map) that he was outside of our area, but since we said we'd deliver it I'd still come out there. I got there after half an hour, and found out he had ordered a salad as well. Fortunately he let me just drop the price six dollars, and he still gave me a big tip.
7) Finally, said bimbo from earlier doesn't do 1/2 her closing duties including rolling silverwear (at all) and cleaning the bathroom. And when I was telling the new cook how last driver gives the last cook some tip, and the last waitress gives both the driver and the cook a tip. At which after saying tipping the driver as well, she turned to him and said "man, doesn't that just suck?" .......
Oh yeah, and someone lost a receipt for a delivery to krispy kreme so the new driver went out there without one not knowing it was a credit card order, the receipt was never found, and the guy refused to pay cash for the pizza and tipped the driver in donuts (the dirver hates donuts). They also broke the coke machine.
So yeah! I'd like to hear someone say they had a worse day, without obvious major trauma like someone dieing or a house burning down.....
