Aria and Lucien had gone out for the evening in the hope that it would relieve some of their recent stress to leave the house. It had begun well enough, but then Lucien had been drinking quite a bit faster than Aria and while he was merely tipsy Lucien had already reached absolutely rat-arsed pissed.
While Lucien had gone to the bar to fetch some more drinks Aria had stayed at the table, but clearly his fiancé had become distracted as that had been twenty minutes ago, and now all he could hear was him talking in loud tones about spoilt meat and internal organs. It was uncomfortable to say the least.
Finally he could stand it no more and he approached Lucien. "That's enough now," he said, firmly. "I think you've had a bit too much. It's time to go home."
The face Lucien pulled as Aria approached said it all: Even before the blond spoke Lucien knew he was in trouble. Maybe it was the expression on Aria's own face, maybe instinct of mates, or maybe Lucien already knew that he was being an insensitive jerk and was surprised it took this long to get called out.
"I'm not done yet!" He whined and gestured, with a glass in each hand, at the general gathering of people near him, none of whom were willing to make eye contact. "I'm talking with my friends."
Most of the drinks he had fetched were on his hands. Well, Aria's was, Lucien had managed to drink quite a bit of his own.
Aria walked over and took both of the glasses from him, then placed them on the bar. "Nobody is listening to you, Lucien, you're being an idiot. You're drunk. It's time to go home."
The blonde was not nearly as patient and nice when he'd had a few drinks - not that he was a mean drunk, he just didn't put as much energy into being as sweet as usual.
Lucien scowled, fairly helpless to coordinate himself enough to stop Aria from taking his drinks away from him. He ducked his head and even in a lowered voice he still sounded whiny.
"You're embarrassing me in front of everyone, Aria."
