i bet you didn't see this coming. this is me at my very pettiest; this is me complaining about studies...

ok, WHY am i studying english at a UNIVERSITY? why?! was that some kind of miraculous idea i got when i panicked about what to do with my life? NO, it was a situation i somehow floated into. and it was better than i expected. and i took it as a challenge. and it is interesting, BUT.
"pay attention in academic writing II as you have the ability to go far!"
--well, i still hate that style of writing from the bottom of my heart. i know i'd be able to get the best possible grades if i gave in to coherence and the POLITE anglo-american approach (=suomen kielessä: MITÄ SIINÄ JAUHAT PASKAA, MENE JO ASIAAN!!!, mutta e-hei englannissa) and all that jazz.

i can't even write this properly. and come to think of it, there might not even be a point in all this whining after all!
(i'm just typing away to keep warm)

my pleasurable timetable for spring will consist of:
translation from finnish to english and vice versa (ei soita kelloa and so on!), normative grammar (the moment we've all been waiting for, oh yes), spoken english (i've begun to wonder if i even possess tools for articulation because i can't seem to speak any language), language in society (you wouldn't believe how messy a course can be) and the lovely academic writing skills II (can you FEEL the love?!).

there will also be proosan analyysi (=analysis of prose, in the department of comparative literature), because i am very masochistic when it comes to literary studies. and the history of literature lectures will continue throughout the whole spring.

one word: YAY!

i noticed the private vocational school has a new study program with the title theatre makeup artist (what the hell is "maskeeraaja" in english?)-stylist, this must be a sign. . .
