My Short List of Books

Sep 03, 2006 15:16

After reading Lissa's rant about the book list, I thought I'd take a moment, list the books of the thousand-and-one i've actually read myself, a few I'd like to, and make some suggestions on books I'd prefer to have seen therein. Interestingly enough, I've only read two more books from said list than Lissa in the extra two years I've had to read ( Read more... )

I know, it's interesting how many of them are the ones people truely enjoy. Nothing like some butt-hurt puritan condemming reading material to put a bulls-eye on good literature.

Wow! Quite an accomplished list of stuff read. It's so interesting to see what people enjoy, what they want to read, it's revealing. I am also amazed at the number of books on the banned list I've read, and even more amazed that many of them were assigned to be read in class! Anyway, congrats on the laptop!! how very cool. BTW, do you want any books sent to you as part of a snail mail care package, is theree any sense in that? Let us know.

Yeah, um... who am I to deny reading material? I'm reading the Da Vinci Code Right now - more than a little bit because Maggie said it was good, & I've got one more book I just bought yet to read, but they won't last forever! ^.^ Um, in spite of the relative speed at which mail seems to arrive at the ship, let alone how long it takes to reach me once it's there, it does arrive eventually. :)
The books a person reads is one of the most telling signs of who a person is.

I completely agree about the books we read -- very revealing. (I love your icon, by the way -- my sentiments, too -- how does it feel to be part of a flat earth society now?) If you've got any special request for books, let us know.
