A peek every now and then. A mischievous smile once in a while. The brown haired boy of sixteen’s body slacked against the abrasive surface of the dark brown bark of the antediluvian oak tree, leaning back as he admired the picturesque scene that was laid in front of him. The trees shone in glory of their height, the green leaves having mercy on the boy’s eyes as they blocked most of the sunlight from his view. In his hand was a book of nature, the cover adorned by a little winged creature with pale skin that peeked from the bushes, sapphire blue eyes twinkling beautifully at anyone who stared at it.
Overall, it was an unspoiled scene where a teenager was resting in the abode of the appreciated nature in the meadow of the deep forest during an early evening of mid-autumn. Or at least, that was what the clandestine creature behind the leaves of the weeping willow thought it to be.
The creature gazed at the human inquiringly from afar, its beatific features appearing like multihued jewels, lustrous in the sunlight. Curious about the human, the creature came out of its hiding place, head tilted as inquisitive eyes took in the lean form of the human that seemed so peaceful, quiescent at his spot. However, there was something about the tranquil silence that seemed almost… poignant.
‘Beautiful, isn’t it?’
The creature was snapped out of its trail of thoughts when the rich voice of the human reached its eardrums. It didn’t realize that it had already arrived in front of the human, and when its mind grasped the fact that the human could actually see it, its eyes widened.
‘You can see me?’ it asked.
The boy smiled. ‘Why, yes. As a matter of fact, I can see you perfectly clear. Thus, I can also see your wings, halo and the fact that you are not walking,’ he said rather mildly, eyes trained on the feet that floated just inches above the crisp leaves before he looked up, meeting the other’s eyes. ‘Yunho,’ he said, offering a hand as a smile flitted across his face.
The two stared at each other for a long time, before the angel broke the silence. ‘Jae-Jaejoong,’ it said, reaching out a timid hand to clasp the other’s.
At that one moment of time, their lips parted and one word came out that they knew, would change their lives forever - ‘Hello’.
