Summary: It was just a dream. At least, he thought so.

Yunho was walking on a stony pathway wherein patches of pure white snow covered the grey colored trail. He didn’t know what he was doing there, but he enjoyed the moment of tranquility nonetheless.

He was in a garden, he realized, when he took in the sight of the translucent crystal lilies that grew from both sides of the lane on the snow-clad plot. As he continued his journey, he spotted a small pavilion not too far away from where he stood. From a distance, he could make out the blurry outline of a figure that stood at the pavilion with its back facing him. And as he headed closer to the marquee, he spotted a pair of black wings that sprouted from the back of a body. Upon the sight, his breath hitched and unconsciously, he slid closer towards the figure, only to almost slip when his right foot lost control due to the snowy ground. ‘Woah!’ he exclaimed in surprise as he tried to steady himself, only to fall back on his bottom with a yelp followed by a groan.

‘Damn…’ He attempted to stand up despite the ache in his buttocks, only to tumble back with an even louder groan than the previous due to the sudden shocking appearance of the flying figure. As he opened his eyes, he was greeted by the sight of the being from just now, except unlike last time, his feet were not rooted to the ground.

The boy (it was a boy right?) had ebony hair that fell just above his shoulders, the blackness of the seemingly smooth strands reflected in the doe-like eyes that sparkled like multi-hued jewels in the warm sunlight. The black orbs held so much innocence and curiosity, almost like that of a new-born baby. His nose was slightly pointed, and Yunho thought that it made the boy seem adorable. When the chestnut-haired man’s eyes reached the boy’s lips, he concluded that the latter probably had the plumpest and pinkest pair of rose-hued lips that he’d seen, and he couldn’t help but thought about how they would feel against his own heart-shaped ones. But of course, he was still most amazed by the black wings that sprung from the other’s back.

Yunho’s eyes were trained on the foreign body parts of the boy, and thought about how the black contrasted with the boy’s white nightgown that reached his mid-thighs. That was also when the man took notice of the pale, milky thighs of the boy, and in all honesty, he couldn’t help himself when a slight feeling of lust arose in him.

All of a sudden, the boy appeared in front, right in front of Yunho - their faces now only mere inches away from each other’s. Inquisitiveness was obvious in the boy’s black eyes as his was studying the other with curious eyes, head tilted slightly to his left. Yunho, on the other hand, was taken aback with the boy’s sudden appearance, but remained silent as he stared at the angel - quite literally as well - in front of him.

The two stayed that way in their individual position for what seemed like a century, and it was only when the sudden desire to hear the angel’s voice coursed through him did Yunho break the pregnant silence with a simple question. ‘What’s your name?’

The angel, who was still staring at the human, smiled sweetly before answering, ‘Jaejoong.’

The sound of the police cars’ sirens blasted annoyingly in the air, which did not help the head policeman’s headache at all. He sighed as they finally closed the latest case of a crazed psycho kidnapping children and supposedly harassing them.

Yunho was standing in front of the abandoned warehouse where the culprit previously resided. It seemed vacant, but the moment he turned to walk away, he heard the heartbreaking cries of a child that resounded from within the seemingly blank emptiness of the building. His mind screamed at him to walk away, but he found his feet leading his body inside anyway.

Once inside, Yunho decided to look around, but spotted no one. He was about to walk away when his eyes caught sight of a petite form that was curled up in the corner of the unoccupied building. Instantly, the policeman rushed to the boy to comfort him. It was only when he caught sight of the boy’s face did he feel - see - a sense of familiarity in the young one’s features. However, as much as he tried to remember where he saw the child, he couldn’t put a finger on it, and in the end, he gave up.

Gently taking the frail form in his arms, he rocked the boy backed and forth in his arms. He waited patiently for the younger to finally stop crying before asking, ‘What’s your name…?’

When the question fell on small ears, the boy looked up at the other with tears glistening in his doe-like eyes, tear stains visible on his chubby fair cheeks that were stained by a tint of rosy red. Yunho, being the child lover he was, felt the strings of his heart tug at the sight. And when the boy’s pair of rosy red lips parted, the older one felt an odd yet pleasant sense of déjà vu overwhelm him, tingling in his essence.

Smiling sweetly, the boy answered in a soft and shy tone, ‘Jaejoong.’
