Review Responses for "Two Halves," Chapter Two
ReaperxHunter: ^^ I rather like myself for it, too.
StarofDavia: Thanks! Updating quickly seems out of the question for me, but I'll try. *busy*
alohaturtle: *blink* Phil? Oh, you don't mean from Hercules do you? >.> From what I remember, Kuranosuke doesn't have so much an awkward laugh as one that is hard on the ears. I suppose, applying the awkward quality to it, that he doesn't feel very comfortable around most people, having lived in the isolation of his castle for most of his life, so laughing is the only way to release the tension he feels.
Shoot, missed the deadline. Ah, well. I've been lazy busy. Thanks for reading!
ninalee-chan: Thanks! I've always been a fan of Koharu--one of my friends and myself reason that we're the only two people who like her. Kuranosuke took some getting used to, but I rather enjoy writing him. For someone who's only appeared in one episode, I think he's very... deep, you know?
psquare: *blush* You flatter me, really. Thanks a lot! Yes, I do love writing Kuranosuke; he's a challenge, due in part to his obscurity. Since there's so much assuming I need to do, I need to be careful characterizing him; the way I read his motives may be completely different than what someone else does, and I really try to avoid confusion.
In addition to Two Halves being my "practice in writing in overlapping metaphors," it's also my practice in writing vignettes. My goal for this fic was to take all of these little incidents and string them together using common themes; the more I think about it, the more I think it would have been easier to make the entire fic a one-shot, but that's what happens when I get overenthusiastic about posting the first chapter.
What I wanted with the part with the Japanese clothing was for the readers to recognize the colors, more than anything. I was trying to get across that Kuranosuke wanted to appeal to Koharu by giving her nice clothing, but he had other motives; he gave her outfits in pink-and-green and then black because that was what he remembered Sango wearing. It's one of his ways of bringing her out in Koharu.
*hug* We all learn from our mistakes psquare-chan! But two years... wow, that's a long time... *trails off*
XxLilyNGxX: LOL, yes I did. Thanks for reviewing!
Aamalie: Thanks! I tried to make it sound as disconnected as I could. As I mentioned above, it's my goal to tie the entire fic together. And your deadline... is long dead. I need to resurrect it.
Gimpyslair: Thank you! I've come to love these two characters to death and have been searching for something devoted to at least one of them for some time. I decided a few months ago to take matters into my own hands. And similarity is a huge theme in this fic; keep an eye out for it. ~_^
^^ I rather like Aki, too. I have a thing for bitter characters.
Thank you all again! Your reviews have made my day! ^^

While I was at home showering studying today, my dad and sister went out to buy food for tonight when they burn down the kitchen. It seems that whenever I go to a party or sleepover, they cook. At any rate, they came home and told me that two people told them to tell me hi. The first was Anna, who I recently had an entire conversation about bell peppers with (*love*) and the second... was a girl in my Architecture class that the YSU said was a bitch. I promise, I'm not the one teaching her to swear...
Have decided that, if it was anatomically possible, I would have Erica's children. In spite of the fact that she has a boyfriend and that I feel rather assured about my sexuality. She's just... la, I need to go hug something now! ^^
My OCs--the ones that run around in my head and obsessively pair up and die and come back to life again--aren't cooperating. I still haven't named them all yet and they keep reproducing. T_T You're not bunnies, are you? Please tell me you're not bunnies.
The other day in English, we were asked in a Do Now to think symbolically. We needed to pick an object in various categories that we were most like and explain why we picked them. I shared mine with the class because I have already sold myself over to the human manifestation of symbolism though I haven't found Him yet.
Color: Black. You could pair it with any other color and it will match.
Object: A white board. Fun to color on and easy to erase.
Animal: A cow. If I had the choice, I'd stand around all day, but I can be resourceful if you need me.
Type of Weather: The wind. It can be both parts welcoming and undesirable depending on the circumstances.
Type of Vegetation: A carrot. I prefer to be out of sight.
At that third one, virtually the entire class went, "...cow?" I'm just full of surprises.
One hour and forty-nine minutes until Dalin's party! ((pokes clock)) Go faster, yes?
