Oh, I really like both of these, but there's something about the Raito. I don't know whether it's his expression or the colour you've picked his shirt, but there's something really stunning me about it that won't leave me alone and I can't really explain it. The hair. The hair is also brilliant.

I think it's because you've taken Raito and really made him your own. In fact, you've translated both of the characters from Obata's style into your own and that's what makes both pictures striking. I don't think L looks funny at all.

I'm sleep deprived, and I'm going to stop rambling now. ^^;

The blocking in the background really works for this. I get the feeling that adding Ryuuku in Raito's picture would have cheapened the focusing effect the gradating shadow-outlines put on their faces.
