WARNING: Some of you may be offended by this. Note that no one on my flist annoys me and does what I'm ranting about to such a gross extent as to what caused me to start ranting. Alls you people are cool and I <3 you, so don't take this personally. This is for all the fecking annoying people.
Harry Potter fandom SUCKS. ARSE. Quite literally if they're those idiots that only ship slash on the HP fandom.
For instance, Harry/Draco. That's just stupid. STUPID. STOOPID, even. I understand if people are like "teehee, wouldn't it be funny if Harry and Draco were gay together in some alternate universe?" because that's fine and AU and great. But you people that ship it as your OTP and quote references from the books as to why theirloveissocanon, you're idiots. Because it's NOT canon. There's no chance of it ever BEING canon. Like Draco/Hermione. Or Neville/Alicia Spinnet. Yeah. I'm serious. I can tolerate the insanely AU ship when people understand it's AU.
Oh, and the damn R/Hr vs H/Hr war. Really guys, it's already been written so give it a rest. I personally ship H/Hr because it's how I look at love and affection (steady and ongoing and turning into something more), or AU!D/Hr, (because it's fun/funny). I don't ship R/Hr because I don't think real love happens like that. But that's my opinion. Personally I'd rather Hermione not end up with either boy, because it just strains the trio even more. Leave it alone. Whatever.
Other ships that only idiots think are canon: Snape/ANYONE. Rowling even says no one would love Snape. Lily/Snape. Harry/ANY BOY. Harry's straight, you fools. He dated a girl. Leave it alone. Harry/Ron is just wrong on loads of levels, nearly as bad as Draco/Harry. Pansy/Ron, Draco/Ron, Any Professor/Any Student. Hermione/...anyone but Krum. Yeah, I'm picky about my fandom 'ship.
Also; Remus/Sirius --> is as far from canon as Draco/Hermione. Really. If they're anything, they've a Sam/Frodo relationship. Utterly heterosexual. I highly, highly, highly doubt Rowling would write them as homosexual. So don't ship that as your omgtheirloveissocanon OTP!!1! Because it's not. AU? You have fun. Canon? NO.
And, the most important part of it all: THESE KIDS ARE ALL SEVERELY UNDERAGE!!!!! Don't have them doing awful things with one another. You all DO understand that it's the equivalent of child pornography would you photomanip those children's faces onto bodies doing NC-17ish stuff, don't you? Really, you can't all be that daft and think that it's totally cool to manip underage children into horrible positions. It's sick. I'm thinking of leaving all the HP icon communities because it just litters them and it's disgusting. Child pornography is wrong, even if it's with ficitious characters. Honestly, people. *shudders*
The HP fandom is sick and twisted, really. And don't even get me started on the threesomes and orgies. What rabid fangirls do to these kids is grostesque and just icky. amor715 agrees with me, don't you? *high fives* Just let the kids keep their clothes on, guys. It's not that hard.
LotR slash people bug me too, because Tolkien wouldn't ever have his characters homosexual. His works are often filled with religious (yes Christian) themes, and Tolkien was a Catholic, so really guys, don't bother with it.
LOST slash doesn't bug me, but I'm not fond of it, especially since every character on that show is an established heterosexual. But, it's all in AU fun, so that's great. You HP people, *shakes head* you're the most rabid, smutty fandom I've ever been in. And over half the characters are underage!
Yeah, so, other than that, I'm working on typing up some Epic stuff. I think that, after it's written, I'm going to put it in novel form, because, as much as I enjoy the style of The Iliad, I enjoy the style of novels even more, and I'm better at that. So..yeah, when we're finished, Epic will be in the both Epic and Novel form. Yay!
