Iconses! Finally. I couldn't hold them in any longer. Most are a new style I've picked up, so there's a lot of white, but not in a bad way...I promise. I'm working on some OC icons right now, and some more actor ones. Let me know if there's a certain fandom you'd like icons of and I'll put those on the list ( Read more... )

So very nice! I love the LOTR ones.
If you are ever looking for bases, that is what I mainly post in my icon journal. I am trying to start making icons. How did you get #5 to look like that? Please share your secrets with me.

I use Adobe Photoshop. I made number five by just using a lot of layers.

I took the image, cropped it, and then did the auto levels, contrast, and colour...tweaking them to get the colour I wanted it. Then, I made several layers of the same image, and just fiddled with those.

I most used the Sharpen Edges tool, and the Gaussian blur tool (set at, like .5), and then I clicked on the layers and used the blending option 'soft light'. It took a bunch of layers, and I had to mess with the saturation level a bit, but that's how I eventually got that look.
