Offer was not accepted

I'm so angry and frustrated right now.

The offer Clay and I made on the house was not accepted because the offer they had on Friday WAS under negotiation. Which, of course, was not what my agent told me at all. I'm mad at her for not making the offer on Monday as we asked, but I'm mad at myself for not pushing on her harder than I did. As

Whoof. Was this "The Perfect House", or is it just getting down to the wire?

We're not under the gun to move.

We thought it was 'The House.' It felt right and I really believed that it would work out even after our agent said that we had competition.

And we'll be okay. We're still in a good position with the market as it is. It's just that so far we've found two houses we really like and that we could see ourselves living in. Great opportunities at really good prices and our agent acted too slow both times. I'm not thrilled at the idea of settling for something less than what we've found so far, and yet I have trouble thinking that we'll be able to find another 'great deal.'

If you think this is a shortcoming on the part of your agent, you might want to consider switching agents...I hate to, because they make their money on commissions, but if s/he's costing you opportunities, you might want to consider letting them go.
