Is it wrong that because i had a bad experience [12 years worth of experiences] with one type of religion, that i ve decided to become entirely unreligious?

Religion is what you make of it.
I don't think there is a wrong or right way to go about it.

For me, I think the best "religion" one can have is to just live life in the best way possible, being fair and kind to fellow humans. Surely every form of major religion (and minor too) can agree that this is the center of their belief, so what does it matter if you're following them or not?

O gosh haha I feel like I say "I agree" to every comment.

But I agree. I don't really think religion is something that you just look for either. Spirituality is something I think develops over time and as long as you're content and believe you are a good person, I think you can lead a very fulfilling and meaningful life, whether or not you have officially adopted a religion

Oh yeah. I think that if there is a God, he would rather us be good people with no religion as opposed to miserable people with a religion. There's no reason that religion has to define what you do or don't believe.

there is something called the emergent church which is something that I really agree with. It is about spreading God's love, and not about hate. Like, no "God Hates Fags" or whatever you mentioned in another comment. The emergent church is recieving a lot of "what the heck do you mean, God DOES hate homosexuals" from the rest of the body, but we believe differently because we believe in a loving God.

Maybe you could try looking into this form?
