When my sister was little, she wanted to be an astronaut. I remember because at the time, my mom was like, "out of ALL the things you could be when you grow up, you're choosing that?!" But she was always interested in science/space/all that stuff.
Anyway...I don't really follow the space program much, but this whole thing has been really discouraging. I had hoped that they would make SOME progress, get people back up there. I really commend those who choose to do space travel because of its risks and everything - it's such a cool profession.
I hope that you don't have a lot of trouble telling the girls. I know it's disappointing, but hopefully something good will come out of all this. Maybe more launches in the future? Who knows? *hugs*
Aw, thanks. I think we'll talk about things after the shuttle gets back to earth in a little while.
You asked about the weather a couple of comments ago. Fact: Yesterday the digital thermometer in my truck said 104. 104!!!! Twice, actually. It's never been that high before. I think it's pretty accurate, too, because it's usually within a degree or two of Reagan National. 104!!! Hope you guys up there are having a better time of it. :p ::hugs::
Sort of, but not really. It was 94 in Boston yesterday, which is lower than 104 but really, it didn't feel like it, lol. Some places were hitting 100. Crazy! Thank god it's about 70 today, I can actually go OUT and not stick to things.
