Firstly, as LJ won't allow me the luxury of creating a new paragraph, I will apologise in advance for the run-on style of this post. This also means I can't tab out of the cut or Spoiler secion, so the review of Cold will be at the end. Secondly I shall attempt sum up the past few days as succinctly as possible without using the word 'squee'. Here ( Read more... )

I still don't like Roger Allam's Prospero. He's great with the comedy but he doesn't put enough danger into the part for me. He also has an annoying habit of signalling the 'famous' lines in his speeches by slowing....the....line...down and creating unnecessary pauses.

Colin has done great with a part that is as airy and indefinable as parts go and as the play has gone on he has gone on to playing more for comedy than drama. I guess that is in line with the rest of the production.

The guy playing Ferdinand is superb and I will definitely go and see him again in something else. Caliban is the best thing about the show, although I have sources that tell me the actor himself is a bit of a gitty primadona, which is a shame.

It's been good though and wish I could be there for the closing night. But hopefully, touch wood, there will be many more Colin performances to see in the future.

Great to hear from you again. I wonder why LJ isn't letting you do proper punctuation? I'm not having that problem. How exasperating for you.

I'm glad you got to see Colin and get an autograph in spite of the nasty crowd. How exciting for you.
