Deodorant and talcum powder cause artifacts on the films. Since every tiny detail on a mammo film is so important- you can't risk having something there that could mask something more important or even just make it look like something is there when everything is fine!
You're a radiology tech, and not a Registered Nurse, but I often use 'nurse' to refer to most medical folks who aren't secretaries, medics, or docs. No assumption here. :)
I at least feel better knowing that you really know... But I do wonder why that is what most people assume?
And I might be fussy, but I think it's generally funny. Especially because I'm not even good at mammos yet, but I'm doing them constantly. I pity my practice patients! Monday I accidently compressed a woman to 53lbs on one breast. 53! We normally try to get between 25-45lbs. Oopsies!

I am curious to find out why everyone assumes a girl that does anything somewhat medical is a nurse though. Everyone thinks it- all the time!
