shitty long, but again, rather important!

stolen from a lovely, lovely cranky friend!

keeping this public for new friends (and old) to read and get to know me better.

my thoughts on the following rather controversial issues:

War
Money
Religion
Gay Marriage
Crime/Punishment
Gender Equality
Immigration
Abortion
Politics
Race

War: honestly, i don't see anything good about war. anything. i feel like that girl from mean girls who talks about rainbows and what not, but seriously, can people for once act mature and settle it with a conversation? boo hoo, you don't get that piece of land. what the fuck ever, use what you've got and make the most of it, you greedy pigs. build a swimming pool or something and stew in your filth for all i care.

you want to dominate the world? resolve your insecurities about having a tiny dick and then get back to me. it's never good to be a follower, but that doesn't mean you HAVE to be a leader!

and seriously, killing someone? yeah, we all joke about killing that one bitch we all know, but when i actually mentally put yourself in a position where you'd have to kill, i would much rather kill myself. and i'm not saying that necessarily in a noble way, it's more just i could never ever live with myself for killing an innocent soul. killing someone's child.

blah.

Money: "money doesn't buy happiness" bull friggin shit. emotionally, of course it doesn't. but the luxuries money provides us with does increase the amount of happiness we feel. imagine all the things you love-your camera, your house, heck your pets (because you had to spend MONEY to buy them), food. you'd be miserable. i'm not saying you can't or shouldn't lead a simple life, but i do think money plays a huge role in one's life.

as for taxes, my parents are relatively liberal people and so i've grown up with them complaining about "selfish republicans" who are too stingy to pay taxes. they believe that if you have the money, you should pay up and the more you have the more you should pay. i think it sounds strange, but i think i also agree. look, it might seem annoying to have the government interfere with the money you've rightfully earned, but this isn't a perfect world and we NEED taxes to support society. do you have a better idea?

Religion: oh god (haha). i say i don't mind when people are religious, but truthfully a little part of me is uncomfortable with religion in general and makes me see a person much differently. however, i realize that religion can be a totally good thing. for instance, i think the original purpose is to give thanks and believe in a higher power and be able to do so with a large amount of people. it's a network of like-minded people that can build a bond based on it.

however, i think a lot of religious people find atheists/agnostic people to be smug and arrogant for having their "superior" rebel beliefs, and that really annoys me. of course this doesn't apply to everyone, but i find a lot of religious people to be very arrogant and rude and honestly, quite dumb. sometimes i cannot fathom how it must be like to live in such a close minded world.

i have this awesome fantasy where when those dumbass, cruel religious people die and go to heaven, they'll be stopped at the gates by god himself who will say "wtf? i don't know what bible you were reading, but you did it all completely wrong. in fact, your entire lifestyle has been a sin. game over, go to hell." it makes me quite happy.

Gay Marriage: again with (some) religious people! dude, why the fuck do you even care? look, i'm not entirely comfortable with gay PDA, but then again, most PDA i find sickening. who gives a crap what they're doing in bed in the later hours? oh no! two penises are bonding! it's not yours, so get the fuck over it! these people are not going to hell, i know that. with many issues i can at least see the other side, but this is an issue where i KNOW there is only one right answer. i think in a century or so, gay discrimination is going to be compared to african american discrimination. everyone will simply find it ridiculous and astounding that people had so much hatred for these innocent people. love is love, chill out.

this means gay marriage is in fact ok. they are doing nothing wrong, and they should be allowed to celebrate their love for each other the way everyone else can.

Crime/punishment: I'm not quite sure what this is asking, but in terms of the death sentence, i have very mixed feelings. my mom would rather the bastards be killed and my dad leans against that. like almost every issue, it has its pros and cons.
there's this quote that says something like "so we are teaching our kids it's wrong to kill people by killing them." ahh the irony. but still, if you were put into a situation where the person you loved most in the entire world was brutally murdered, i think you'd have second thoughts. i asked my dad, who, like i said, isn't fond of the death penalty what he'd do if i were to be raped and murdered and he said "i'd want to kill him with all my might" (which i found super sweet lol)

but then the idea of killing someone who could be innocent? that's a sickening thought. and killing them sort of gives them an easy way out. i think it would probably be worse to be confined to a cell for the rest of your life, although i think they're allowed to write letters and read books, so it's not entirely shitty. also, regarding money, people have to pay for these asshole's housing. that's messed up.

Gender Equality: i don't have much to say to this. yeah yeah, i'm a woman, i should be screaming at men and what not, but...i'm not. trust me, i've read the history books: men were complete bitches to women. it's ridiculous how we weren't able to go to school or get divorced or anything. that sort of life is pointless. but i think i live in a country where it's less and less of an issue. for christ's sake, we almost had a female president! and while we're still not at that point yet where we can accept to be ruled by a woman, look at how much has changed: we basically can have any job we want, we can choose who we marry, we can vote, etc.

obviously in other parts of the world, this isn't so, but living in this country, i'd rather focus my attention on issues that are currently conflicting us. that sounded bad, but hopefully some of you understood what i meant?

Immigration: seriously, what is up with this issue? why do people insist on being so incredibly selfish? and excuse me, but i feel like i should shout this because there are so many dickwads who can't understand this: we were ALL once immigrants so unless you were native american and wore feathers in your hair, you have no right to decide who and who can't live in this country. as for these "dirty people" stealing our jobs, umm, again, could you be more dense? excuse me? it's these people that help run our society. i don't see your pretentious ass being a school janitor or serving fries to ugly stupid people, do you? they do all the jobs we american refuse to do, so slap some sense into yourself. if you can. GAHHH

also, trying to cross the border from mexico to here takes a shit load of effort and will. if they're willing to leave their country, all risks be damned, they obviously need a better life. and why should we live in our air conditioned houses while they toil in their fields or what not?

Abortion: oooh boy! i actually already made a post about this, but since i'm making this a public entry, i'll try to sum up my feelings about this once again.

this is one issue where i have a pretty firm stance on, but i can respect the other decision. i am pro choice. one thing that really bothers me is the assumption that "pro choice" means "pro abortion." yeah, that's completely incorrect and if you can't distinguish the two, go back to school, because you really need to. or get a brain transplant. that works as well.

for those who say abortion is murder, well i disagree. a fetus is basically a ball of slimy cells. if you were to take it out of the womb, it could not survive on it's own; not at all. if you took a 7 month "fetus" from the womb, it would have a very high chance of survival if only for a few days, which represents that it's a living, human being.

i really respect the pro life people who have their opinions but are willing to accept certain circumstances in which it should be allowed. for instance, imagine getting raped and then being forced to have that baby; the product of such an evil man. and then of course, it's the men that try to tell women what to do with their bodies. hey men, excuse me but are YOU pushing a grape sized object out of your penis? no? didn't think so, so shut the fuck up and jump off a cliff. cool, thanks.

i do think that if you're 26 or whatever and you get pregnant and simply don't want the child, that's a different matter. you are no longer a teenager that should be allowed to continue their education and learn about who they are. you are completely an adult, and you should be, at that age, responsible for your actions.

it's very complicated.

Politics: don't have much to say. it's annoying, but necessary if you want stability. and even though we resent it at times, people living in america and europe and what not, well we are not suffering from the actions of a dictator, so we should be grateful. yep. i can't think of a much better system to be honest.

Race: it's funny, because i'm indian but for several years now i've longed to be white. if i could, i'd change my skin color in a heart beat. BUT the idea of hating someone based on a COLOR is so, so stupid. and to think people didn't think blacks were human! i will never understand that. sure, they have slightly different facial features, but besides that, they shit, eat, walk and are able to talk just like us.
i don't have much more to say, except for if you're prejudiced against someone based on the color of their skin, you're simply a jerk. wait, no, you're a douche who's on their way to lovely hell.
