I finally made it to
House on the Rock. While I thought this was a pretty well-known national attraction, I've been realizing it's recognizable mostly to Midwesterners and people who like Neil Gaiman (it was a set-piece in American Gods). The first time I went I had to have been 8 or 9 and everything was so intense. We brought home a giant picture book and I couldn't stop staring at the giant whale.
I went again with my mom when I was 20 or so. Still awesome.
Last year wtih Jim was awesome too because he had never seen all the craziness. I could go every summer and not get sick of it.
I also love the things where you stick a token in and the drunkard dies and the grim reaper comes out.
