Damn, this shut-down is probably going to last awhile. The two sides are not even meeting right now, and are still saying crappy things about each other in public, when they address it at all

I'd love to be on unemployment for like six weeks every year. Seems like I get so much better at cooking because I more or less have to and I have all the time in the world to do it.

It is really awesome just having time. I don't have to hurry to get anywhere, and I have the time and energy to pick up my apartment before it gets too messy, to cook an awesome meal that took time to put together, to read 200 pages a day, etc. To sound all hippie about it, there's time to be mindful of things.

I'm getting incredibly spoiled by this time off. But I still hope it doesn't last past the summer.

Oh shoot, I forgot that the Uptown Market is an afternoon thing and not in the AM like other Farmer's Markets. I've got to go to a Taco Crawl up Lake Street in the afternoon! Damn, sorry. Want to hang out for a bit on Wednesday in the late morning or early afternoon!
