Yeah, BUtterfield 8 is NOT a good movie, & Liz hated it herself. I read a terrific essay on Liz Taylor (& focused on a number of her flops including Cleopatra & her cleavage) that compelled me to rent it, but yeah....

Whoa, thanks for the link! Makes me think I should read the novel. Being set in the 30's, end of Weimar/start of Depression, would be a good start towards improving the plot.

Totally! A bunch of my friends are aaahb-SESSED with it. It was really great to watch it on the new Blu-Ray release. I don't think I've ever watched a BR disc before, but damn, they really do look and sound amazing.
