the new Tom Waits & Zola Jesus albums are good.

If you want something of hyper and triumphant, Wu Lyf - Go Tell Fire to the Mountain is the thing I tried to hate but ended up loving.

Balam Acab - Wander/Wonder

althought at big brain Drivas brought in Takeshi Terauchi: Nippon Guitars. it's all japanese instrumental surf rock,it rules. pretty much every song sounds kind of like the munster's theeme. also this album called invasion by a band called pussy. That Charles Bradley record that came out this year is quite good; intensely revivalist sure, but whatever. Plus, the Menahan Street Band shows up on it.

John Maus put out a new record. And M83 did that double disc.

You might like the new Lykke Li (though she did call a song "Sadness is a Blessing", which is rather silly. But at least Stellan Skarsgård shows up in the video; I'm guessing just because he likes to play disapproving father figures).
