More fun with drabbles. Because when a song gets stuck in your head, you just have to write H/D fic about it ( Read more... )

This was really, really nice. I'm a sucker for a song!fic, except when its some band I really hate. I didn't know this song, and went and listened to it afterwards. Wow. Lovely. I love how you captured it here, Draco listening intently, Harry not being able to read him... and then the last line (which should say softly, btw, not softy... :) ) -- I knew it had to be from the song, so I had to listen to it. Really beautiful.

Oh me and my misspelling of perfectly common words. When will the madness stop?

And I'm glad you liked the song (the fic is secondary, Mr. Taylor deserves all the credit), I've always thought it was so beautiful, and so suitable for poor Draco.

“You can close your eyes,” Draco said softly, “It’s all right.”

Awwww! Just lovely! This would be a good one for hd_fluff.

Thanks for the suggestion! I had no idea that was even out there!

Glad you liked it!

This song is really special to me! My parents used to sing it to me as a lullaby, and I danced with my father to this song at my wedding. It was actually really fitting, as my husband and I danced to Aerosmith's "Don't Want To Miss a Thing." So that first song kept repeating the line, "I don't want to close my eyes, I don't want to fall asleep," and then the next song said "You can close your eyes, it's all right." :)

Anyway, this was a very different context to the one I'm used to thinking of this song in, but it worked very well. Beautiful story.

Oh it is such a beautiful song! And that is such a nice story; I could imagine that would be a lovely song to hear at a wedding... *sighs, has minor fantasy about someday getting married, with many flowers and a huge cake, sighs*

...of course I had to hijack the pretty song and make it H/D fic ;)

I really loved the slow pace in this, and how carefully each of them watched the other. Lovely.

I love your writing so much. You capture Harry and Draco so closely to the way I see them. Poignant is a very good word for your work.

I want to read more, but you seemed to have stopped posting. Have you started putting your work elsewhere?
