Character History:
It gets confusing. This sums up the story arc I am taking her from.
Personality:
Smiles are infectious, and Sakura's are no exception. Back in the country of Clow, where she is a princess, it is her cheerful disposition and amiable personality that makes her popular among the locals and earns her their love. She does not look down on anyone, seeing them all as equal. She also insists that her childhood friend, Syaoran, who is also a commoner, to call her by her first name. A girl first before a princess, she gets flustered when caught in an awkward situation with the boy she likes and is often teased by her brother Touya, who calls her a monster, much to her dismay. Although her relationship with her brother may seem discordant, it isn't like that at all, as Sakura is not the type to make enemies and easily makes friends with everyone, being able to make Syaoran open up to her instantly when they first meet. At the start of the series, she is passive, anxious and often sleepy because of the feathers - her soul - that she lost, but as the story moves along and the group finds more of her, Syaoran notes that Sakura's usual cheer is returning to her once more, making her the energetic and always smiling character the people of Clow Country know. During the Piffle arc, she is seen to be less prone to fainting and falling asleep. That doesn't mean that she's less prone to waking up late.
As she picks up fragments of her powers along their journey, she also picks up pieces of her heart. Yukito once noted that Sakura's ability to hear spirits is because of her kind soul. She is willing to listen to anyone in need of assistance, for she does not like to see others suffer, but more than that, she does not want others to hide their troubles from her. If one hides their pain, how will she aid them? She wishes to help people out of compassion and always puts others first before herself. Her concern is reflected in these lines: "When you are injured, I would be worried, but I would be more worried if it were hidden! Don't worry about me. Don't hide if you are hurt." It is genuine, as is everything about her. Later on in the Tokyo arc, she selflessly gives her feather to the city's inhabitants, knowing that she will deprive them of resources if she did otherwise. It is only in her nature to touch people's hearts in even the smallest of ways. If she does not right away, she will eventually.
Because of Sakura's gentle nature, it isn't surprising for anyone to return her kindness. Sakura is truly grateful for any good deed anyone has done for her and will always do whatever she can to pay them back. Throughout the group's journey to search for her feathers, she feels as if she is constantly weighing them down and a burden at the most crucial moments. Thus, she is willing to do anything to help them with the task of, even if there is little she can do. Even if Sakura is not confident in her abilities, she makes up for it with enthusiasm - if it is something she is capable of doing, she will jump at the opportunity and work hard at it no matter what, ignoring all warnings. However, she knows when to back down, as seen during the Dragonfly race, when she gives Syaoran a fair chance by urging him to go ahead rather than tailing her to keep an eye on her. As much as she wants to do her best, she wants others to realize their true potential as well.
Perhaps it is because of the kind environment she grew up in, but Sakura is naive about the universe around her, something that is both her best quality and her downfall. She trusts people too easily and is a little dense when it comes to certain situations, often requiring other people to point her in the right direction. However, she only sees the best in a person and no matter what people may say to besmirch their name, her opinion will not waver.
Extra:
Character Abilities: At the point where Sakura is taken from, there are things she still isn't able to do, such as foresee the future in dreams. However, she can hear the voices of spirits and non-living things, as well as talk to the dead. She was once able to talk to and help a tornado and it thanked her by giving her flowers. The ghost of Princess Emeraude spoke to her in order to settle matters in Jade Country as well.
Sakura has an extraordinary amount of good luck that saves her from virtually anything. See, this is why she can have nice things. This is also why Syaoran's group has been lucky enough to land in a relatively safe world every time so far. Both Yuuko of xxxHolic fame and Chun Hyang from Koryo Country called Sakura "a beloved daughter of God" because of her fortune. If you ever plan on gambling against her, don't get your hopes up. As if you can win against the girl who rolls double sixes all the time. All the time.
Possessions: She will be bringing along a
trophy she got from winning the Dragonfly Race in Piffle Country. It consists of a glass ball at the top with one of her feathers inside it. As feathers contain fragments of her memories, this one contains, well, it isn't much but you can
see for yourself. A powerful magical aura emanates from it, the kind that can power a whole city, set up protective barriers, enable people to exorcise spirits and the like.
Anything else: She is a princess who doesn't have all her memories back yet! As mentioned before, fragments of her soul took the form of feathers and were scattered across dimensions. However, no matter how many of these feathers she can collect, she will never remember the memories she made with Syaoran. She is also a clone that Fei Wong Reed created from the original Sakura's body and soul and is from an alternate version of Clow Country, but she doesn't know that at the point I'm taking her from. What is important is that although she functions like a human being, she is a magical creation tied to her creator and will only disappear once he dies.

[ Sakura's dancing alone, somewhere by an isolated fountain in an alley hidden from all the hustle and bustle of the town where no one can see her. That is, unless anyone happens to chance upon her. ]
Do I really have to practice in these clothes? It's a little embarrassing no matter where or when you wear them... [ And from the noises she hears from her seal, she notices that it's started transmitting her voice. She takes it in one hand. ] Oh! Good morning. It's Sakura. Today, I'm practicing a dance for the festival next week. My brother always says I'm clumsy and not really good at it, but I want to take part in it. The shows the fairies will be putting on look really cool, too!
[ Sakura mumbles, counting to an imaginary beat. ] One, two, three, one, two, three... Ah! [ One of her heels gets stuck in a crack, but she gets it out. ] Aaah! [ She steps on something round and loses balance. Why are shoes difficult. She laughs, though. ]
The dances in this world are very different from the ones in mine. I don't exactly remember what the dances were called, but the music is faster and flows more freely, you move with your bare feet, and instead of following the melody, you goooo-! [ slip on a smooth stone, stumble across the cobblestone path and try to avoid a cat passing by.
Sakura lands on her bottom, on a sack of. Uh. It looks like dust. It smells like dust. It makes her cough. ] ... You go with iiiit...
Um, even if heels are hard to get used to, I'll learn this dance for sure! [ Determined face is a go! ]
Log/Prose sample:
A pair of green eyes peered into the small crack of light. At the sight of the figure hunched over a desk full of books and scrolls, her heart started racing. What was she getting nervous about? Sakura shook her head as she told herself that already made up her mind. That Local, the voracious reader who had been holing himself up in his own home? She was going to give him this cake she made. She was going to give it to him, he was going to eat it, and even if he didn't like it, letting him know her appreciation was good enough. A decisive nod was all it took to erase the last of her worries and turn the knob.
"Hello," Sakura greeted him with a voice softer than usual. "I made you a snack." She pushed the door open with her elbow and carefully set foot on the carpet, inside the musty study area carrying a tray of afternoon tea. There must be hundreds of books crammed into the shelves sandwiching small enough spaces for a child to squeeze himself into, all of them containing yellowed pages of runes and equations, discussing the arcana of the ever-changing physical and magical state of Splendor in long-winded treatises. Her father and the high priest must have talked about things like this. They said she would understand as time passed, but even at her age, the thought of digesting the blocks of texts before the man studying them made her head spin.
Next to the man's study materials was now a cup of Darjeeling accompanied by a small plate of cake. There, just as she had pictured it.
"Would you like some extra sugar? Lemon? Fye-san said this kind of tea was one of the best..."
No answer. But it had to come eventually, right? As Sakura stepped back to wait for his reaction, her mind replaced the person in front of her with a familiar face: Syaoran, and how he immersed himself in books as he tried to look for clues for her feather's location in a world they visited previously. She knew little about him then, but he was always full of determination to help her despite that. Perhaps even now, he was out there searching for her feathers without Sakura knowing his reasons, like this man who was set to find answers to everyone's questions.
"Um, thank you!" It slipped out so suddenly. After all, Sakura could only go on without being grateful for so long. She held the tray close to her chest, hands gripping either side as she partially hid her face behind it, embarrassed. "You're all doing your best to find a way to send everyone back and we haven't even done anything to repay you."
There was no response from the man who was so engrossed in his book since Sakura entered. The man unfortunately did not look like he was listening at all. Maybe he looked up once, or so she would like to think, and acknowledged her presence, at least Oh! But she can't bother him now. With a flushed face, she bowed and audibly excused herself from the room - almost. She remembered there was something else she wanted to say. As she held the door ajar, she looked behind her to close their one-sided conversation.
"When you need a rest, please don't hesitate to take a break. More than wishing for a safe way for us to return, I hope you won't need to sacrifice more than you already have. When we see each other off, I'd like to see the city smile at us..."
She gave the man one last gentle smile he never gave a chance before closing the door behind her.
