I went through a period where I experimented with the idea, found in Gerard Nerval and earlier folks like Thomas DeQuincey that "Dreams are a second life."
Where you spend time every day trying to accept your dreams as a different but equal reality.
Which will, of course, fuck you up.
Even American transcendentalism, where you look for messages from god in nature, will tend to fuck you up.
If there's anyone out there who's qualified to write horror, it's you. To this day, you're the only person who has been able to reliably provoke nightmares with the scenes you ran with me. I think I had at least one about every major plot line, even the Library. I had several about the house, one of them disturbing enough to rank with my epic nightmares.
