a few coastal birds

I went to lighthouse point park this morning to see new birds and practice photographing them, with some success.

Here are two brants (Branta bernicla)

Oh, beautiful, all, such lovely tantalising looks at waterfowl for those of us still frozen-in. :) Bird parts aside, I also especially like the drake RB Merg's water-ripples and wake.

Part of me's a hardened scientist, and another part of me can never get over just how cute Brant are. Bitty geese with their bitty goose bills and bright dark little eyes! Awwwww. :)))

(regret that I am on dial-up and must commandeer a faster connection at some other time to view the Puffin video but, then, I do hope to get to the library tomorrow...)
