Funny, at the dining hall people were just debating how to shorten my name. One person suggested "Andi" which almost sent me flying into a rage...i controlled myself, however. And then I remembered how Ms. Boland wanted to call me Drea. Awful.
Moreso my problem is pronounciation. People at BU had this awful tendency to pronounce it "Ahn-drea" as if I were some sort of horrible snob. Sometimes i'd correct them, and sometimes i wouldn't, depending on the circumstance.
My pet peeve was being called "Am" (pronounced "Aim") because people got lazy and dropped the "y," even though my name's only three freakin' letters long. When I was younger, I'd correct people. Then too many people in college did it for me to correct them all, so I just let it slide.
