I think that the kind of procrastinator that I am
is that if I have N things to do,
I will do N-1 of them.

So, in the case of N = 1 (base case), you will do 0 (1-1) of them, and have one left.

Assuming that for N-1, you will have 1 thing to do and thus not be finished, Adding 1 to both sides gives you N, but then you will do 1 thing, still leaving you with 1 thing.

Thus, you will never be finished. QED.

Exactly! Fortunately though, I can trick myself into including extraneous values into the set of N. Example: cleaning my room. If I have one homework assignment left and I convince myself that I really need to clean my room, I can do the homework assignment under the pretense that I'm avoiding cleaning my room.

Basically I play mind games with myself. Usually I lose.

On the plus side, this means you will usually get n-1 more things done than many other people, frequently me.
