Hahaha, Edward eats kittiez. Gross.
Ah, those freakin' books are still such a source of endless make-fun-of-ability.
If anybody wants the big and empty versions of these panels
to make their own ridiculous Edward and Bella comic, you can get them
here.
Heya everyone! In the next few days I'll be putting up a collection of books, paintings, portraits, T-Shirts, original artwork and prints for sale on my Etsy shop. Keep an eye out for it if you have any interest in buying some of my work to have for your very own. I'll try to get it up as soon as I can. But first, I need to recover from the last week.
I'm back from the Museum of Comics and Cartoon Arts Festival! Total fun, as usual, even though I spent two days on my feet in a tin can full of hot (and sexy) person stew. Boy, I did not realize how great air conditioning is when you fill a giant space with warm bodies.

other great shots of the weekend!)
I love New York. In the space of four days, I ate SO well. Every meal a poem-- even the hot dog from the cart (which was the main staple of my diet for the first 8 years of my life, so I don't wanna hear a word against them). Plus I nearly got bamboozled in Times Square, which I suppose means that I've been living outside of NYC for long enough to make me a yokel (but we whined until the scammers gave our cash back, so I suppose there's New Yorker in me still).
By the end of the second day, I'd sold out of all my books, met a lotta great people, and I was being kept vaguely coherent by a little portable fan that I stole from Mark (and is, below, directed at my crotch).
(Photo taken from Arambulo's Flickr, as I didn't get any good pictures all weekend!)
I also went to fab ladies-only comics parties (though late in the evening I snuck in my boyfriend like at a pajama party). It was a super evening cocktail event for women in comics, and a load of hilarity, though I may have had one fizzy lady drink too many and started off the first day of the convention a little delicate... But it was
fuuuun.

I stayed with family friends in Jersey, in their gorgeous old house in an incredibly pretty neighborhood. I suppose my limited view of Jersey has been deceptively flattering, but I would move there in a heartbeat. Anyway, one of my hosts was a precocious, eight-year-old race-car enthusiast, who continuously impressed me with his fantastic hotwheels tracks. I made them a little watercolor to demonstrate my gratitude and to give props on his design skillz.
Before I left town, I managed to swing by one of my favorite spots;
Kinokuniya! While cleaning out their supplies of pen cartridges and disposable fountain tips, I came upon a gorgeous brush pen that piqued my interest, so John bought it for me as a prezzie because he is a nice boyfriend. It is sooo great. Shorter bristles than my Pentel Pocket, and a different feel-- light and alive because it's made with real bamboo. I like it very much.
To break it in, I did some DOODLES.
(Not all of these were done with the new pen.)
Now I'm gearing up for some serious work on my book. It would be easier if Linney didn't sit on my desk, purring while viciously biting my hand meat. Oh how she will suffer the cuddles of retribution!
