rough patch
this past few days have been really tough.I don't know if I mentioned a young man that passed away form a brain tumor, a few months ago, Kevin. I grew up with him, his mom is my moms best friend, Inez.
Well, my mom called Inez, on Saturday morning, to get together for fishing, as they were all at the lake. Turns out that they had just found out that their other son, James, was killed in a car wreck the night before. He has 3 children all under 5.
My mom called me with the news as I was starting makeup on 2 models. I managed to get through it without crying. We did the shoot but i had a really hard time pretending to care.
On Sunday I started feeling really shitty, and generally treated D like crap. I took Jack to the doctor on Monday, turns out he has a sinus infection and what looks like strep, but the culture came up neg., and an eye infection. Then I call D and he tells me we are doing our taxes that night. Ugh, I wanted to kill him, especially after having to listen to "I told you so" form my MIL(about Jack, I had delayed taking him because I think antibiotics are evil unless there is an actual bacterial infection)
Anyway, I went to the doc today and now I have strep. So 2 doctor visits and 2 rounds of scripts in 2 days with no insurance. joy.
on the up side- I did manage to do a bridal makeup and hair that somehow magically turned out beautifully. I did plums and silvers which had disaster written all over it, but it came out so pretty. I hope the photographer gets some close in shots.
Also, I may have a decently paying video shoot, next weekend. and we are getting a small tax refund! Considering we paid in $700 last year, it was quite a relief.
