So much has happened in the past few months, I don't really even know where to begin.
I quit drinking.
That's the biggest thing I've done in a long long time. I just hated the way it made me feel and I hated how irresponsible I became and I just really needed to grow up and change my life. Alcohol has had such a strong hold over me for over 20 years, it was definitely time for change. I quit cold turkey for nearly 90 days, by going to AA and making adjustments to my lifestyle and friendships. Now, when I have a glass of wine or two with dinner, I notice just how much it effects my psyche and my overall level of happiness. It's just not worth it.
I have stated many times in the last year that I wanted to be in the best shape of my life at 40. Well, I will be 40 in two weeks and I'm so far from where I want to be, but at least I have made significant changes in my life so that I can be happier and healthier. I will not be going to Peru to hike Macchu Picchu as I wanted to, but I am going to Cancun, to soak up some sun, go kayaking and snorkeling and hiking and yoga with my long time friend, Carrie. I'm looking forward to this relaxing 4 days with her. We always laugh so much.
The kids are growing up so fast. Sydney is now 13 and she's tall, slim, with jet black hair. She's got gorgeous big blue eyes and loves to wear a lot of eye liner. She's going to try to get into the arts magnet school this next year, she's an exceptional artist. She's quick witted and fun to be around. She's started babysitting too. Sydney is a great kid, i'm so proud of her.
Stella is now 7 years old. She's funny, sweet, caring, very inquisitive and gets excellent grades. She enjoys nature and dancing and gymnastics and singing. She LOVES Hannah Montana and The Jonas Brothers and sings Karaoke on the front porch with her best friend Avery. I'm so proud of her too!
Ivy is now 4 years old. She's got dark curly long hair and big brown eyes. She keeps me on my toes with conversation and affection. She is very very busy. She is a social butterfly and loves to do gymnastics with her sister and puts on singing shows for her family often. She eats all the time and always has to be doing something fun.
Will is doing fantastic. His business is growing and he has gone back to school to get another degree in Business. He is and always will be, my best friend. I'm proud of how far he has come in the nearly 8 years I've known him. We just celebrated our 7th anniversary by going on a marriage retreat that brought us closer. I'm happy with our life together. He's such a good man.
I'm still selling on eBay and still entering data for the market research company. I really don't have a thing to complain about, I have more than I could ever need or ask for. I feel extremely blessed to have the life I have. Christmas is right around the corner and today I told the kids that they would get one present this year and the rest of the money we would spend will be donated to a family in need. They all thought it was a great idea.
My photography business is growing very slowly. I have several clients that have come back for Christmas photos again this year. I had a shoot a few weeks ago, and I have another one this weekend. Here's a link to all the stuff I've done lately, if you're interested:
