Lucy stepped out of the car, her purse slung across her body, and nodded briefly at the driver. She thought he said something about taking her bags up, but honestly, she wasn't paying much attention to the man. She wasn't really paying attention to anything, which explained her being in public wearing a slightly wrinkled

Shortly after he'd basically moved into the Watchtower with Chloe, he'd had a security system installed. Considering how dangerous Metropolis had become since Clark had taken off, he figured they couldn't be too careful.
He glanced toward the stairs where Chloe still lay asleep and then faced forward, watching as the elevator doors slid open. He smiled faintly at the newcomer. "You must be Lucy." He moved over to her and extended his hand.

Fighting back the urge to simply begin peppering the guy with a rapid-fire version of 20 questions, she glanced around. She didn't see anyone else, and she couldn't help but wonder what that meant.
"So..." Despite her confusion and anxiety, Lucy had manners. She would wait at least another minute, possibly two, before she broke down and started interrogating him.

"We've got coffee, tea, lemonade and water," he offered, still facing her.

"Water would be great, thanks. I think anything with caffeine would only make me more jittery right now."
She looked away from him and down at her hands. It wasn't nighttime and Chloe was sleeping, which was odd in itself. Her cousin never stopped going, not since they were kids. And, he hadn't mentioned where Lois was. It occurred to her, not for the first time, that she might have a clue as to what was going on if she bothered to keep in touch with her family.

Slowly Chloe let go of Oliver's hand and walked towards her cousin, eyes on her face, "Lucy?" She asked, smiling slightly, needing to make sure she was really there.

She held back for approximately three more second before she was closing the distance and hugging her cousin. Unable to think of anything remotely right to say...she simply held on. 'I'm sorry I wasn't here. I'm sorry you lost your husband. I'm so, so sorry.'
Not letting go yet, but easing up enough to look at Chloe, she smiled again. "I missed you." 'I'm sorry...'

"I missed you too, Luce." She looked at her for a second, Lucy looked more tired than usual, not as perfectly put together and Chloe's chest tightened a little, wondering what had brought her over, but not wanting to ask just yet.

Uneasiness fell over her, and it took her a few moments to collect her thoughts. "What happened?"

"About ten months ago, a creature attacked Metropolis," she couldn't go into details, so she was going to stick with what the papers said, "it... it destroyed half of the city, Luce." She paused for a long moment watching her cousin then looking down at her own lap, "Lois hasn't been seen since."

"Ten months...Lois..." Lucy felt her breathing speed up and a rushing sound filled her head. For all of the arguing through the years, the resentment she'd felt as being sent off when their father kept Lois with him...Lois was the most important person in the world to her. She was more than her sister, she was the mother she had never got to know.
She'd been missing and Lucy didn't know. There was no one Lucy could blame except herself for that, and she hated it.

She moved closer to her cousin, wrapping her arm around her shoulders gently, "I looked everywhere, I think she's alive, she wasn't in any of the hospitals, she just... vanished." While she didn't want to overload Lucy with information, Chloe also didn't want her to think the worst.
