PART I - Birthday
For Robert's birthday this year, I got him Spongebob PJ pants (because I'm sick of his rodeo ones) and a new bath puff, (cos his old bath puff was just sad...)
And then to go with the underwater theme... an octopus snorkeling mask. Just because.
So as I said, for his birthday, we got all dressed up, went for crepes - and searched for Dustin Hoffman.
Instead we made the major discovery of Bundt Cake city.
This week we're going to go for the other part of his birthday present, which is dinner at the Panorama, which is a restaurant on the 51st floor of a downtown building so that Robert can take pictures of night time city lights.
PART II - Parents
My Mother arrives almost unnoticed.
But if you take her to a nice French restaurant, she starts to glow.
Cobblestones... it might be Montreal. My Dad, always photogenic.
Beautifully preserved architecture amidst skyscrapers. Montreal.
I didn't take that many pictures in Montreal, because it was more about spending time with my Dad.
My visit with my Dad was awesome, we went to see the Neil Young documentary, Heart Of Gold, and it was just the best ever. As if a broom is used as an instrument in Harvest Moon! Though I wanted to puke down the throats of the people sitting in front of us, at the end of the movie they were complimenting the "cinematography" and "that wide shot." Hey shitheads! Did you happen to notice Neil Young at his most intimate??? Oh no, cos people like you figure out a way to suck the soul out of everything. So please allow me to puke down your throat as compensation.
Also that night, we discovered that Royal Thai on Bloor actually has the best Thai food ever
PART III - Life resumes as normal, though we're striving for magically normal.
Last night Robert & I went to see Friends With Money, which I really loved. On our way, we discovered that at night, Bundt Cake City becomes EMERALD BUNDT CAKE CITY!
And then we tapped our heels and were home.
