I was ultimately rejected by Brookhaven for the internship. Apparently all anyone wants interns for is to write computer programs. And I'm reasonably certain that IBM never received my complete application, as they claimed that they would inform ALL applicants about their selection status by April 1st...and it's now April 8th and I've not heard a ( Read more... )

If I knew you in a face-to-face manner, I'd probably go to Africa with you. But here we are, miles apart, etc. C'est la vie for people who meet on the internet via reclusive authors.

I think you should go to Africa with me anyway. I'm not only saying this because I'm creepy and hard up for companions. It would also make for a better story.

My school acknowledges that they don't teach you anything useful here . . . it's all masturbatory mind-exercises. But in the end, your life is more interesting when you can think better.

Sometimes people let money concerns convince them to major in things they don't care about, and then I meet these people at career panels, and they say, "You want to go into documentary filmmaking? You should pursue that! Don't get sucked into fundraising like me just because it's a secure thing."

Bleck. Finance? Ashley, you have nothing to worry about. I am sure of it.
