OH, that damn thing. Does it have a specific name, like 2010 Defender or something? I've gotten rid of different versions, and I know a few ways to find a walkthrough on how to remove it. I can copy/paste them here as those things like to block instruction sites~

Links are fine, but anything I've tried on the internet has been ass, but hey, I'm up for trying anything.

All it does to my internet is make stupid sites pop up on me randomly. It doesn't block anything, thankfully.

Is This the one? It's basically the same process for all of these kinds of viruses though. And if you can't go into safe mode, cntrl+alt+delete and find a strange process running, usually a weird string of numbers, and end it. That should stop the virus from messing with you while you get rid of it.

I recommend this too. Avast is what I use, is free, and I haven't had any problems since I got it~

Use Safe mode!! anonymous June 9 2010, 08:56:57 UTC
Try starting the computer into safe mode THEN running a virus removal program. You'll find the scan completes with ease! Do a quick google on 'Safe Mode for Windows XP'

easy!
