* I think that cottage cheese should be forced to change its name to something like "curdled milk giblets" as it obviously is the black sheep of the cheese family. It's relates more closely with yogurt then it does with a good muenster

The thing that I don't like about science is the way that it takes the mystery out of things. Seeing a rainbow should be something that is really neat, yet knowing about the electromagnetic spectrum and diffraction really doesn't do it justice.

I wouldn't say it takes the mystery out of things, exactly. Ok, maybe a little bit, but that doesn't mean its not still exciting! The fact that we know light breaks dowin into spectrums is one of the ways we have lasers, used for surgery and optical drive technology.

Also, visible light is part of the larger spectrum of frequencies, ehich covers everything from whale song to microwaves to raido/tv signals, to body heat. And where would war coverage be without infrared "green screen" night camera shots? Wars may be unjust (especially this one), but its coverage sure is exciting at times, which is why it boosts the ratings. *sigh*

For me the excitement ends up waning. It was pretty sweet once I knew, but now I think about what it would be like to see the world through a child's eyes...
