Van Helsing cannot be lied to as long as he is human. Since he can be lied to when he is not human, he cannot lie about not being supernatural (meaning, in a vampire only game, he essentially cannot lie once he is turned, in a werewolf/vampire game, he can claim to be the supernatural he is not, but he cannot claim to be human) Some sort of prop ( Read more... )

The timers strike me as a very good idea.

have someone OFFICIALLY keep track of it with a timer and then scream out sequentially some code word like "bacon's ready" or something... easier... hey, it works for fat lady :-P and it's not like you should be trying completely to keep from being annimated anyway, eh

see, if someone is officially keeping track, that means for the first 2 or 5 minutes they are distracted, and in vampire, people are trigger happy, and yelling about the secrets being viable could make people nervous. The issue isn't so much people trying not to be animated, but it has happened before where rogues shot people and then got intimidated and yelled down because whoever they shot didn't think it had been 5 minutes.

Maybe I'm not up on the latest version of the rules, but,

1. I thought Van Helsing could be lied to? That the only difference was that everyone else knew he wasn't a secret vampire?

2. What's this 5 minute thing? Wasn't it like 1 minute for the head vampire to hide and then another 2 minutes before the secret vampires awakened?

1. yeah, he can be lied to, but there have been rumblings about changing the rules to make him more useful, a little more power on the human side, since they rarely win anymore, i was suggesting how that could be done
2. the 5 minute thing is in animators, if you aren't animated by anyone in 5 minutes you become rogue and shoot, well, everyone.

Ah, got it. Yeah, that's a good idea for vampire! I can't wait until I get back down there and can start playing again.

Timers...good idea...though not effective if we don't have one on each floor. We can always set them to mintues before game start to allow people to place them on the three floors.

Example: Animators
Animators are choosen. Someone sets the clock for 7 minutes. People disperse after 2 minutes. Alarms sound after the next five minutes.

What about a zombie that could be turned, but not killed by humans?
