Thanks for all your messages, it’s been nice to read them on this, which hasn’t been the best of days ( to put it mildly.)

I’ve spent the best part of the day nursing our elderly guinea pig, Mabel, who appeared to have had a stroke. Closer examination revealed that she can’t put any weight on her right forepaw and so can’t get around easily. I

Oh dear, how stressful and worrying for you. The phrase 'consultation process' still sends a shiver down my spine. All the best to Mabel - I always think there's hope where there's an appetite for dinner.
