Long time no post + Poem!

Nov 26, 2008 01:00

Okay, so long time no post. It's almost a whole month since I last posted, and a lot of shit happened during that time. Anyway, just decided to post my Fil poem for no real reason. Heh. Oh well. Here goes...

WARNING: DEPENDING ON VIEWER, CONTENT MAY BE NON-SENSE SHIT OR VERY DEEP SHIT.

WARNING: VERY CRAPPY TRANSLATION. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Puno ng Ilang-Ilang

(Ylang-Ylang Tree)

Itanim ang punla ng Ilang-Ilang

(Plant the seedling of the Ylang-Ylang)

Araw-araw buhusan ng mga patak ng pawis

(Shower it everyday with the drops of your sweat)

At patubuin sa sinag ng pagsusumikap

(And let it grow beneath the rays of your effort)

Patubuin ang punla ng Ilang-Ilang

(Let it grow, the seedling of the Ylang-Ylang)

At iharang ito mula sa sisira

(Shield it from those who wish to destroy)

Insekto't peste'y huwag hayaan

(Don’t leave behind insects and pest)

At balang araw siya ay tatatag

(And one day it will grow stronger)

Palakasin ang puno ng ilang ilang

(Strengthen the tree of the Ylang-Ylang)

Kahit sa laki'y kailangan ng alaga

(Care is still needed despite it’s size)

Lagyan ng pataba

(Fertilize its soil)

Tanggalan ng damo

(Weed out what isn’t needed)

At sa iyong alaga'y siyang mamumulaklak

(And under your care it shall flower)

Tignan ang bulaklak ng Ilang-Ilang

(Look ath the flowers of the Ylang-Ylang)

Mga kamay na berde't dilaw na pahaba

(Long, slender palms of yellow and green)

Tumigil sa gawa at langhapin

(Stop what you’re doing and smell)

Ang halimuyak na naglalaro sa ilalim ng puno

(The fragrance that lingers beneath the tree)

Bunga ng tabaho't pagsisikap

(The fruits of your labor and effort)

Biyaya't ganda ng kalikasan

(The gift and beauty of Mother Nature)

Huwag ipagdamot ang Ilang-Ilang

(Don’t the Ylang-Ylang)

Ang biyaya nito'y huwag angkinin

(Don’t keep for yourself the gifts it offers)

Hayaan tumingin ang makakakita

(Let those who will see look)

Hayaan pumitas ang maliliit na bata

(Let the little children pick its flowers)

Hayaan langhapin ng dumadaan

(Let those who walk beneath smell its scent)

Ipagmalaki ang iyon tinanim

(Be proud of what you planted)

Ipakita ang gandang kanya'y angkin

(Show the beauty it posseses)

Huwag ipagdalamhati ang Ilang-Ilang

(Do not mourn the Ylang-Ylang)

Berdeng-berde sa dahon

(Though green with leaves)

Kalbo sa bulaklak

(It possesses no flowers)

Sa kamay ng mga bata

(In the hands of the children)

O inapakan sa daan

(Or stepped on on the path)

Sira't walang bangong linalabas

(Ruined; without a fragrance)

Alagaang mabuti ang kalbong Ilang-Ilang

(Yet still take care of the flowerless Ylang-Ylang)

At sa iyong alaga'y muling mamumulaklak

(And under your care it shall blossom once more)
