Missy lies

Come to think of it, there was a lot of lying going on in the last two episodes, but i am specifically focused on Missy's atm.

This week Missy revealed that she had a daughter. The Doctor also gave her a ring ETA: her broach for some reason in relation to this daughter. That seems very intimate and there was clearly more to the ring than Missy was willing to share with Clara. But Missy was sharing more with Clara than any other human that we know of. In fact, Missy has being very forthcoming, even if most of it has been half-truths at best. Could Clara remind her of someone?

Last week Clara asked Missy: "Since when do you care about the Doctor?"

Missy's response: "Since always. Since the Cloister Wars. Since the night he stole the moon and the president's wife. Since he was a little girl. One of those was a lie, can you guess which one?" We the viewers know that One was a little boy (Clara got to meet him, after all), do we know that the Master was a little boy? I don't know that they have ever mentioned the Cloister Wars or the Doctor stealing a moon in the past, but if Missy is telling the truth about only telling one lie, then it stands to reason those events really happened. It's interesting that the Doctor was once Lord President of Gallifrey himself.

Also last week, Missy referenced a couple walking by and said that Clara is the puppy. The couple she was referring to, they were clearly married and growing old together. It's actually a fair comparison, the Doctor and Missy are both over a thousand years old and Clara is still young even for a human. That dog might live ten, twenty years, in comparison to the humans living far longer. The same scale applies to the lifespan of a human versus a time lord.

Do you send your will to your best friend? From a human standpoint it seems much more likely to send it to a family member. And if a person who has been married and had children in the past...a very specific family member. Why do the Doctor's companions never ask about his wife? I'm not talking about River Song, i mean his Gallifreyan wife, the grandmother of Susan. How long has this show been on the air, and so far as we know, we know nothing about Mrs. Doctor. But Missy claimed to be the Doctor's girlfriend last season. Was she lying?

Did the Doctor and Missy have a daughter together? Were the Doctor and Missy married? Do Gallifreyans get married, do they bond telepathically as fanon suggests? I think that the Doctor knew Missy was alive and was telling her to bring Clara back to him just as much as he was yelling at the Daleks to do it. Last week he somehow "knew" that a friend had arrived, i think he sensed Missy. I think Missy brought Clara as a hostage. The Doctor told Missy to run so he wouldn't shoot her, I'm sure of it. "The Doctor keeps trying to kill me." But why did the Doctor originally run away? Perhaps it was so he wouldn't kill Missy then, too.

Am i actually starting to ship the Doctor and the Master? Dang it, i think i am. I'm still hoping that they will fix Donna but am certain that Moff will never make the Doctor and Donna a proper couple. I think River has been out of the way so the Doctor's first wife can visit for a while. Is Moff going to actually fix Missy? I really need to stop theorizing so much about this show, i'm really bad at it.

theories, doctor who
